This is an impressive traverse across the Alps, which could hardly be any more diverse. We start in the Bernese Oberland and hike along Europe's longest glacier to the Valais valley. The pass crossing into the little frequented Val Formazza in northern Italy is of unique scenery. We follow old sumpters’ and smugglers’ paths and cross the historic Guriner Furggu to Bosco Gurin.
Day 1
Meet at Jungfraujoch and hike down to the Konkordia hut at 2850m.
Day 2
Glacier hike to Fafleralp, we spend the night in the Binntal valley.
Day 3
Short taxi ride and ascent of the Mittlenbärg Pass at 3044m auf. We descend the Hohsand Glacier to the Rifugio Mores at 2504m.
Day 4
We hike along the Sabbione Glacier to the Passo del Vannino 2719m and reach Val Formazza passing through the Vannino valley.
Day 5
Hike up to the Guriner Furggu 2323m and descent to Bosco Gurin. Taxi ride to Locarno.
