Ski touring on glaciers requires additional safety skills. How do I avoid falls into crevasses? And what do I do if it does happen? How do I navigate on vast glacier plateaus? How do I use GPS and compass? How do we negotiate ridges in winter? You won't become a professional during this course but we guarantee you'll have a few more answers!
Day 1
Meet at Jungfraujoch and ski descent to the Konkordia hut. Crevasse rescue practice.
Day 2
Ski tour and skills training on Trugberg 3880m, fantastic descent back to the Konkordia hut.
Day 3
Ski tour and skills training on Kranzberg 3666m, ski down to the Aletschfirn glacier and reascent to the Hollandia hut at 3240m.
Day 4
Ridge climb to the Mittaghorn 3892m and descent to Blatten in Lötschental.
