Who hasn't heard about the Mutthorn area and Petersgrat before? With his first glacier landing in a propeller plane in 1951 Hermann Geiger laid the foundations for alpine rescue flights. Many people's lifes got saved by these brave glacier pilots. We follow in their footsteps and visit their historic landing sites before hiking down to Blatten in Lötschental.
Day 1
Meet in Kandersteg, hike along the Kanderfirn glacier to the Mutthorn hut.
Day 2
We head up to Petersgrat, enjoy the fantastic views and hike down to Lötschental, first on the glacier, then on hiking trails.
Treffpunkt
Our mountain guide will meet you at the train station in Kandersteg at 08.45am.
