This introductory course is great for those who are looking at learning the basics of mountaineering. We provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge which will enable you to take part in mountaineering trips led by a mountain guide. On the first day you will learn basic rope work and try yourself at easy rock climbing. The second day is based on a glacier, how do I walk on crampons, how and when do I use my ice axe? If you consider buying your own climbing gear we recommend you wait until after this course, it will give you a good idea about what suits your needs.

Day 1
Meet at Grindelwald, introduction to rope work at the Gletscherschlucht crag.

Day 2
We walk up to the upper Grindelwald glacier or drive to the Steingletscher on Susten pass, glacier and ice training.

Note
This course can also be booked without accommodation!

Treffpunkt

Our mountain guide will meet you at the train station in Grindelwald Dorf at 8.45am.
