The Schreckhorn area is one of the most beautiful glacier areas in the Bernese Oberland, a perfect place for this advanced training course. The Upper Ischmeer glacier below the hut offers great training opportunities without a long walk in. We focus on the following themes: Climbing technique on rock and ice, crampon walking techniques, rope work, roped up glacier travel, crevasse rescue with pulley systems and self rescue, etc. Beside these "technical" themes we also focus on some "tactical" topics such as map reading, navigation with compass and GPS, weather forecast and interpretation. Investing a few days of your time into this training course will be well worth your while, mountaineering will become even more enjoyable and less stressful.
